Other gardens in the state will be open to the public. One of the featured gardens on this tour is a spectacular garden at “Samarate” designed and created by Plant-A-Plant Company of Aldie, Virginia. You take a walk back in time as you view this authentic replica of historic Virginia gardens in the 18th century. The seven-foot brick enclosure surrounds a 12,000 square foot area reminiscent of the walled gardens at Mount Vernon. Stepped terraces softened by tailored, lush plantings lead through charming gardens and expansive lawns as a prelude to the elaborate gardens within the walls.
